Angels

Introduction:  In many ways, the subject of "angels" is one filled with mystery and often includes much conjecture.  Some questions, we cannot answer!  "the secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever..." (Deuteronomy 29:29).  We can speak where God's Word speaks on the subject -- but we must be careful to go no further.

I.  The Origin of Angels (Colossians 1:16;  Job 38:4-7;  Nehemiah 9:6)

II.  The Order of Angels

• Angels are of a lower order than God (Hebrews 1:13-14).
• Angels are of a higher order than man (Hebrews 2:6-9;  Colossians 2:18).
   

III.  The Nature of Angels

• Angels are immortal being (Luke 20:34-36).
• Angels have free will (Jude 6;  2 Peter 2:4).
   

IV.  The Role of Angels

• Angels work on our behalf (Matthew 18:10;  Hebrews 1:14).
• Angels are interested in out salvation (Luke 15:10;  1 Peter 1:10-12;  Exodus 25:20).
   

Conclusion:  We will spend eternity with one of two groups of angels (Matthew 25:34, 41).
