Biblical Reference Guide In A Politically Hostile World
Introduction: Ecclesiastes 1:9 - What has been is what will be, and what has been done is
what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun.
(underlined portions below were blank in printed outline)
Rushing to Judgment: (1 Samuel 16:7; Proverbs 18:17; Acts 17:10-11; Proverbs 25:8)
Take time to weigh and discern the facts.
Make sure we aren't hurting our credibility as Christians,
Things are often different than they appear.
Mob Mentality: (Matt 27:15-25; Acts 7:57-58)
Beware of piling on or acting on emotions on rather than thinking through your actions.
God's people are set apart and holy, and are not to be "of the world."
Getting swept up in a group can amplify emotions.
Discrimination/Favoritism: (Acts 10:34-35; 2 Peter 3:9; Romans 2:9-11; James 2 1-4, 8-9)
Christians come from all walks of life, all nations, all lifestyles.
Avoid placing stumbling blocks for brothers and sisters by binding things that aren't scriptural.
Polarizing words will never bring about a spirit of peace among God's people.
