Polygamy in the Old Testament

Polygamous practices did not work to the glory of God. In studying we see that the outcome caused more difficulty for those in polygamous relationships. The Bible does not hide or attempt to paint these men as perfecct, sinless, or blameless in the eyes of God. To the contrary, these men are shown, flaws and all. And through it were able to see that God uses less than perfect men for His perfect plan.
