Philip, the Unsure One
Series: The Men Jesus ChosePhilip's hometown was Bethsaida, he was knowledgable in scripture, very practical, and somewhat of a literalist. While there was a Philip mentioned in Acts 6:1-7, that was not Philip the Apsotle. We see here that Philip was a calculating, processing person, who struggled at times to see the possibilites found in Jesus, as we see in the example of the feeding the 5,000. He also was not quite certain of himself enough to lead the Gentiles to Jesus himself, but rather took Andrew with him. However, he never seemed to be self doubting, simply striving to confirm his ability by relying on support from his fellow Apostles and disciples.
