Series: The I AM's of Jesus

"Let there be light" was the first command on the first day of creation (Gen. 1:3).  Light is essential to life on earth.  In places light is scarce such as caves and the depths of the sea, life is scarce.  Mankind lives and thrives when light shines on the earth but sleeps when it is dark.  Light brings an understanding of our surroundings, perspective, and the ability to see the right path as well as the dangers.  Jesus uses the physical to elevate our eyes to the spiritual quality He possesses.  Jesus does not simply show us the light or bring light with Him.  He is "the Light of the world."
