God's Design for Marriage

Series: Mighty Marriages

Source Text: Genesis 2:18-24, Ephesians 5:22-33

Considering what it takes to have a marriage with great strength in these days when the devil tries so hard to tear them apart. 

Genesis 2:18-24 teaches us why it was so important in the beginning that God created the relationship between man & woman. __________________________________ (Gen 2:18)

One pivotal point to understand in the marriage relationship is that 2 become ____ (Gen. 2:24)

We need to recognize that many of the things that we are encourage to be doing as individuals we should look at ways we can do them together with our spouses! They are our helpers!

Characteristics of a Strong Marriage:

  •  Communicates respectfully & lovingly - Col. 3:18-21
  •  Takes time to connect with each other - Eph. 5:15-17
  •  Shares in Bible study & discusses godly living - Deut. 6:4-9, Rom. 12:1-2, Gal. 5:22-23
  •  Practices God-given roles for husbands & wives - Eph. 5:22-25
  •  Works patiently through problems together - Eph. 4:1-3
