His Church, Our Blessings

“Who do people say that I am?” Did you know that Jesus asked that question in Matthew 16? In connection with that question, he made an incredible promise: “I will build my church” (16:18).

From that point forward, throughout the rest of the New Testament, we learn exactly why Jesus described the church as “my” church—the church belongs to Jesus! To what degree, and why is that a very good thing?
