When the Gospel Came to Ephesus
In New Testament times, Ephesus was the most important commercial city in all of Asia Minor.
At the conclusion of his second missionary journey (51 A.D.), Paul briefly stopped in Ephesus and promised to return, “if God wills” (Acts 18:21). Paul’s third missionary journey began (52 A.D.) in Ephesus; he ended up staying for more than three years. As a result, “all the residents of Asia heard the word of the Lord” (Acts 19:10).
What can we learn in Acts 18-20 from those years when the gospel first came to Ephesus?
